Long standing Red Bull athlete Dougie Lampkin has confirmed that he has recently agreed terms to extend his hugely successful relationship with Vertigo Motors, Spain. The twelve times FIM Trial World Champion who has also won the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) the same amount of times has signed a contract that will see the Yorkshireman continue his association with the brand through until the end of 2021 having originally joined the then new marque back in 2014.

Dougie will continue to fulfil a range of roles and duties for Vertigo Motors, those being a brand ambassador, development rider and team manager, as the now forty-three-year-old carries on using his unrivalled experience to benefit the company throughout it sporting and commercial activities.

Far from stepping back from being in the thick of it, 2020 promises to be as busy as ever for Lampkin as he looks to use his rich winning knowledge to benefit the performances of Vertigo factory riders Jaime Busto, Miquel and Aniol Gelabert, Berta Abellan and Pau Martinez. In addition to assisting this crop of young talent to achieve the best technical set up to suit each individual rider, Dougie will be ever present during the competitions to guide to the highest possible results as the brand continues it pursuit for silverware at top level.

Dougie will also use his own participation in the more traditional events to further develop the Vertigo product range in order to produce the best possible machine for customers around the World. Despite already being the most successful rider ever at the SSDT by some considerable margin, Lampkin will again return to the Scottish Highlands next spring looking to increase his overall tally and to make it five wins on board a Vertigo.

In addition to flying the flag on the international stage Dougie will also continue to develop and grow his Vertigo UK venture, which has seen his company become firmly established as the sole importer of the full Vertigo product range since 2015. Having extended the UK dealer network substantially over the last twelve months, Vertigo UK has enjoyed its most successful year to date during 2019 with a record number of bikes being sold throughout Dougie’s homeland.

Speaking about his recent contract extension Dougie said: “I am obviously very happy to continue working inside a project that I have been part of since the very first day. Vertigo has come a long way over the last five years and I am proud of what we have achieved together both in terms of the bikes that we are now delivering to customers and our sporting success as a team and my own results too. I am confident that over the next two years we can continue our strong collaboration on all levels.”
