Born into one of Britain’s most famous motorcycling families, Dougie Lampkin was always destined for a life on two-wheels. Under the typically tough Yorkshire guidance of his late father Martin, himself the first ever FIM Trial World Champion back in 1975, Dougie soon rose through the youth ranks quickly establishing himself to be a force to be reckoned with in his own right on the international scene. He was soon to secure the European Trial crown in 1993 aged just seventeen before taking his first British title a year later, and by 1997 Dougie had achieved his dream of matching his father’s feat and becoming FIM Trial World Champion himself.

Never a man to rest on his success, Dougie would go on to amass no less than twelve individual World titles over the coming years, plus three team World titles too as he also led Great Britain to victory over the same period. Cementing his iconic status amongst the global motorcycling community, Dougie has continued his winning ways right through to the latter stages of his career having recently won the famous Scottish Six Days Trial for a record extending fourteenth time in 2023.

Alongside a sporting career that has spanned over thirty years, Dougie has also enjoyed lengthy and loyal association with many of his sponsors and remains Red Bull UK’s longest serving athlete of any kind. His relationship with the Austrian energy drinks company has given rise to some amazing projects over the last two decades or more, the most incredible of these saw Dougie become the first rider to wheelie the entire thirty-seven miles of the Isle of Man mountain TT course, a feat that was broadcast live to the World on Red Bull TV.

Nineteen years of marriage to his wife Nicola has now given Dougie two sons of his own Alfie – aged eighteen, and Fraiser – aged fifteen. Besides fulfilling his family duties, Dougie’s professional schedule remains as hectic as ever with increasing demand for him to attend a whole array of international events – both as a rider and ambassador – and to involve himself in a diverse range of projects, that continue to break cover on a regular basis.
